Electrician Courses
The Certificate Course in Electrician is a two-year Programme offered by the Department
of Electrical Engineering, Technical College,National Raj Institute Of Technology
And Management Private I.T.I. Village & Post Mujeebpur Dewa Road,Barabanki-225301
(U.P.), Barabanki in the Distance Education mode at several out-station locations
across the country. The course is NCVT- aligned and the eligibility for this programme
is Class X pass under 10+2 system of education or its equivalent. The Certificate
Programme in Electrician is divided into 4 semesters (two years), the first two
semesters having 9 courses comprising of 2 trade theories, 2 trade practicals, 3
compulsory courses as per NCVT guidelines viz. Workshop Calculation and Science,
Engineering Drawing and Employability Skills and finally 2 Core courses of DEI are
included. Each trade theory or trade practical course is divided into 5 Units of
6 lessons each i.e. a total of 30 lessons. The 3 compulsory courses have been divided
into two parts-each part to be completed in each of the first two semesters. There
is a summer term of 30 days comprising of two trade practical and workshop courses
after the first year, followed by a two semester term of practical industrial training.
The trade theory and trade practical courses have been designed by the Department
of Electrical Engineering and they cover all the topics in the Two year Certificate
Programme in Electrician under the Craftsman Training Scheme of the Government of
India, Ministry of Employment & Labour (DGE&T). Hence the Certificate Programme
of the DEI is equivalent to Electrician course offered under the Craftsman Training
Scheme. The self-learning material provided to the student is supplemented and supported
by video lessons which are shown to the student before the study of each lesson.
In addition, workshop practice forms a major portion of studies. In view of the
above features of the programme, the student is given the option to exit from the
programme after one year.
Fitter Courses
Fitter is an assembling structural framework vocational trade. The duration of trade
is two years with four semesters of six months each. There are many things/aspects
students learn during course such as fitting and assembling structural frameworks
and housings from materials like angle iron, I-beams, and plate steel, using hand-tools
and welding equipment and following blueprint specifications: examines blueprints
and materials list to obtain parts specifications, etc. The trade is very good from
job point of view as it opens many options for self-employment on one hand and further
studies options on other hand. There are so many ITIs and other institutes offering
trade. FITTER TRADE ELIGIBILITY Candidates should be passed in 10th Class with Science
and Mathematics under 10+2 system of Education or its equivalent from a recognised
school board.
